For about half of its run time, “At Fault” sounds like a down-the-middle collaboration. Los Angeles electro-pop producer Spazzkid started assembling the track from an older song recorded by friend and Japan-via-SoCal artist There Is a Fox. Eventually, though, the two teamed up instead.
"At Fault" is a collaboration with my good friend Hiro Makino aka "There Is A Fox" (https://soundcloud.com/thereisafox). The song’s early stages consisted of a re-arranged and re-sampled There Is A Fox original called “Bad Day.” Hiro then graciously provided additional guitar tracks and layers to the sampled arrangement. We went back and forth adding and subtracting elements until we came out with this end result. This track was initially planned to be released with the new Spazzkid EP, but ended up wanting a life of its own. It stands for itself, pure and beautiful.
I really enjoyed producing this track and I thought I’d share it with you all. Cover artwork by the talented Inhyuk Jo (http://instagram.com/jojo1205#)
